Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026
Pure Being is operated by Dominika Budaniw in Caledonia, Ontario. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information through purebeing.ca and our homeopathy services.
Our privacy responsibilities
We follow applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). When providing homeopathic health care, Pure Being also acts as a health information custodian under Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA).
Dominika Budaniw is the privacy contact responsible for our information practices and for responding to questions, access or correction requests, and privacy complaints.
Information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Your name, email address, telephone number, and contact preferences.
- Appointment information, including your selected date and time, time zone, and information you submit while booking.
- Information included in a contact form message, including health concerns you choose to describe.
- Personal health information needed to provide care, such as health history, symptoms, treatment information, and clinical notes. These records are generally collected during the care relationship rather than through this website.
- Newsletter information, including your name, email address, subscription status, and confirmation or withdrawal of consent.
- Limited technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, request timestamps, and server security logs.
How we use information
We use information only for reasonable, identified purposes, including to:
- respond to questions and communicate about requested services;
- schedule, provide, document, and follow up on homeopathic care;
- send appointment confirmations and service-related messages;
- send updates, wellness information, and appointment availability when you have separately subscribed;
- protect the website, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems;
- meet professional, legal, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
Consent and your choices
We seek meaningful consent appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the purpose for which it is collected. You may withhold or withdraw consent, subject to legal, professional, and record-retention requirements. Withdrawing consent may affect our ability to provide a requested service.
Newsletter subscription is optional and separate from contacting or booking with us. We use double opt-in confirmation. Every marketing email will identify Pure Being and provide an unsubscribe method. You may also withdraw marketing consent by emailing us.
Service providers and transfers
We use service providers that process information on our behalf only as needed to deliver their services:
- Brevo delivers contact-form messages and manages newsletter subscriptions and email delivery. Brevo stores its primary databases in the European Union.
- Cal.com provides the embedded appointment scheduler and may process booking, device, usage, and cookie information in the United States and other jurisdictions.
- Our website host and infrastructure providers process limited technical data required to serve and secure the website.
Information processed outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction where it is processed and may be accessible to courts, law enforcement, or regulatory authorities in that jurisdiction.
Cookies and embedded scheduling
Pure Being does not currently use its own advertising analytics. The embedded Cal.com scheduler may use cookies or similar technologies needed to operate the scheduler, remember settings, secure bookings, and understand use of its service. You can block cookies in your browser, although parts of the scheduler may not work correctly.
Retention and safeguards
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably required for the purposes described above and to meet legal, professional, tax, insurance, and record-keeping requirements. When information is no longer required, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it where appropriate.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No internet or email system is completely secure, so please do not send urgent matters or unnecessary sensitive health information through the website contact form.
Children and substitute decision-makers
A parent, guardian, or other authorized substitute decision-maker may provide information and consent where legally appropriate. We do not knowingly use information about children for marketing without appropriate authorization.
Access, correction, and complaints
You may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access to or correction of that information, subject to applicable exceptions. You may also ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
If we cannot resolve a health privacy concern, you may contact the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario. For other private-sector privacy concerns, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
